Nov Update:
Tweaked the construction and debt spending, AI should be more willing to build construction and go into debt to grow faster.

Oct 2024 Update:
Have removed the GP maneuverables as well as AI diplomatic behaviour and as it apparently is screwing with the new update. Beside, Paradox seems to have fixed the AI not conquering stuff problem yay.
Have also added more port levels, convoys and increased trade levels so that there will be more trade. You can now export your entire industry to china while raking in the profits just like in reality lol. Still testing the game so other changes may come 🙂

Mar 2024 Update:
Gave all nations an investment pool boost. This should aid the AI in autonomous investments.
Found out AI does not build buildings in states with less than 5000 workers even though peasants are available. Made AI build more aggressively – hopefully it will attract workers to their states.

Unfortunately AI performance is capped by the lack of workers, and the fact that they dont incorporate states for some reason and dont build industries in unincorporated states.

Feb 2024 Update: Have made some improvements to compatibility. Have also made the AI invest more aggressively. AI GDP should hit 200m by around 1900s.

Are you sick of AI being ♥♥♥♥ at growing their economy? I was, so i decided to observe the AI to find out what was wrong. I managed to get the AI to develop to around 200m GDP in 1910 as seen in the screenshots. I found a few problems:

1. The AI doesn’t build construction sites
2. Even when given construction sites the AI doesn’t build buildings as it isnt willing to deficit spend.
3. AI pauses construction when balance is slightly negative (this is the worst)
4. AI doesnt develop resources because of the economic strategy. It is coded so that if AI tries to industrialise, there is practically 0 building of resources (which it needs to industrialise)

So to solve this I made some tweaks to the current AI’s strategy. AI’s willingness to build construction sites is tied to their investment and income according to the files. So i reduced the number making it more willing to build sites on less income.

I made the AI willing to deficit spend at 20% of total loanable funds and only pause construction when it’s loans hit 60% of loanable funds. This ensures that the AI will add buildings even when it is slightly in debt and be able to stop before going into financial troubles.

Lastly, to solve the issue of AI not building resouces like mines and etc. I tweaked the AI strategy to make sure they try to exploit resources regardless of their economic strategy. The Great Powers are also way more aggressive against unrecognised countries now and WILL annex them regularly. I made it so cause despite the changes to the construction, minors are so broke they wont build more construction sites and will only develop slowly.

I’ve only done some brief testing with this. Let me know if there are any bugs.
