Description:

This mod allows you to edit the world around you on a larger scale. Copy structures, fill empty areas or draw blocks freely without setting up any scaffolding.

Note

WEdit works around a few limitations the game has, resulting in the mod sometimes behaving differently from what you might expect. For example, filling an area isn’t instant; WEdit will gradually fill the area with blocks.

I highly recommend checking out the overview and wiki, and creating backups of your planets before making any major changes.

WEdit relies on two mods to provide you with the many features the mod offers. Please subscribe to the mods for the best experience.

Note that if you have previously used Quickbar Mini, you can choose to replace it with Stardust Core Lite or keep using it. These two mods provide the same functionality but are not compatible with each other.

It is recommended to have /debug on at all times while using WEdit. Although WEdit will function fine without enabling the debug mode, vital information can only be seen with this mode enabled.
If /debug does not work for you, manually set allowAdminCommandsFromAnyone to true in your /storage/starbound.config.

To use WEdit, the dash tech must be active on your character, so make sure you have the this tech equipped.

Obtaining the Tools

  • Craft the WE_AllInOne item from your crafting menu ([C] by default).

Using the Tools

  • Hold the WE_AllInOne item. You’ll probably want to put it on your action bar.
  • Press left mouse button to open the menu.
  • Select an option from the menu by clicking on it.
  • Refer to the information written below your character. Don’t see any information? Make sure you have /debug activated.

More information about the various features can be found on the Wiki[github.com].

WEdit uses the dash tech so that the mod can work without any compatibility issues on servers or when playing with friends.

The mod comes with noclip which is bound to the [G] key by default (as long as you set this key in your game controls). This key may conflict with other tech mods, but you can change the bind in the Quickbar interface. More information can be found on the Wiki[github.com].
