Rivers of Blood: realistic edition
New set of blood textures to increase the realism in the battlefield.
– Compatible with saved games (no need to start a new campaign) and with patch 20 (Ancestral Update).
– Blood & Gore DLC required.
1. Subscribe the mod -> requires Blood & Gore DLC for the blood effects.
2. Choose and download one of the files at:

– Para Bellum – Effects movie.pack <- Includes blood, smoke and dust effects.
– Para Bellum – Effects Lite movie.pack <- Only blood effects (less GPU intensive).
3. Put the file in the "data" folder of the game directory, located in: SteamsteamappscommonTotal War Rome IIdata.
4. Go into Options-> Mods in the game menu and enable the use of Movie type mods.
5. Set the terrain quality to Very High/Ultra to prevent blood stains to disappear from the ground.
Optionally you can choose the original Rivers of Blood Realistic edition that includes a less bloody texture for the units. To apply it, download it at: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkxsjR9oKKNhhKkysHWY8r7SJqWjSg?e=2y8qG6
Search the mod using the browser to find "rivers_of_blood_real.pack" in Steamsteamappsworkshop or in the game Data folder (it will be placed in one of those locations), and replace this file with the downloaded one.
