Original Description

A mini-mod which allows shield belts to be turned off, thereby allowing ranged weapons to work. When turned back on, the delay before the shield begins to charge is the same as if the shield was broken.

This mod was especially made to be used with Simple Sidearms. It would allow your melee pawns to use shields, as normal, yet able to switch to a sidearm without the micro management of unequipping their belt first.

Compatibility
  • This mod does not add any new data to your save file and may be added or removed at any time.
  • Should be compatible with any shield-belt adding mods that are derived from the standard shield belt class. I’ll list out any exceptions as the reports come in. Of note:
    • ✓ Vanilla Factions Expanded – Insectoids
    • X Eccentric Tech – Advanced Shield (their shields are custom coded, however given how they work, there’s little reason you’d want to toggle them off anyway)
  • Hard incompatibility with Cybernetic Organism and Neural Network
