Trash Mod
This aims to make trash and waste management a more fundamental gameplay element to Rimworld. This mod adds a configurable tally to each colonist which goes up when they clean filth. When they reach the set maximum, by default 50, they will wrap the trash up into a trash bag and haul it to storage.
– Adaptive Trash Storage, store all your trash in shiny bins and dumpsters.
– Garbage Truck, haul all of your new trash around the map and dump it on people or something.
– Environment Category, if you’d like to make the presence of environmental science more pronounced and less bloaty in game.
– Burn Trash, a companion mod inspired by Trash Mod that lets you cremate trash. Note that this does not emit toxgas, which kinda messes with balancing
This mod makes it so colonists store and haul the trash they produce from cleanup, and that requires PUAH. This is just how the mod needs to be for it to all feel good.
I was a big fan of that mod, but wanted to do something different. This mod is part of a series i’m doing on trash, and there needed to be a solid foundation for it that wasn’t that mod. I wanted to exclusively focus on trash and not the other waste types, and make it so you never had to see the trash be left on the ground. This mod ensures that trash that gets produced is stored in colonist inventories and marked for hauling. This mod also works on a per colonist basis, so each colonist has their own clean tally.
The default config is up in the air. Give me pointers, I want to make this mod feel good out the box.
