Chosen Undead

The Chosen Undead wanders with a purpose into the realm of Aether! A well rounded sword fighter, the Chosen Undead is a versatile fighter who sports solid disjointed sword normals coupled with powerful magic attacks and a shield that enables them to tank through and parry the opponent’s oncoming attacks to create large openings. However, while they are versatile, they are limited by slow movement speed and attack speed, making it difficult for him to create openings or to directly challenge opponents up close. They also has to manage his Stamina meter in order to utilize some of his more powerful techniques. If you are willing to take on the challenge, then this stalwart hero of legend will serve you well.
Just like in the Dark Souls series, the Chosen Undead has a Stamina Meter. Performing Specials, Strongs and Rolls consume stamina, and they need stamina to use said attacks (with no stamina the roll also becomes very slow with shorter range). They automatically recover stamina as long as they aren’t attacking, dashing or in hitstun.
Jab, NAir, FSpecial and FSpecial_Air all have the Undead swing their shield in front of them. If they hit someone with this shield hitbox while they’re performing any attack, the opponent will be stunned for a little bit, allowing you to follow-up more easily. During these shield attacks the Undead also sports soft armor, allowing them to tank through attacks while parrying them.
Nspecial – Homing Soulmass – The Chosen Undead pulls out a staff and casts Homing Soulmass, summoning up to 5 magic orbs around them that linger until he fires them off by pressing Nspecial again. Charging Nspecial generates more orbs the longer you hold the button, though the cast becomes slower and consumes more stamina as you do. Pressing Nspecial to fire them again will send the Soulmasses forward or towards any players within a certain range of the Chosen Undead, indicated by a ring of soul energy that appears when you launch them off.
Fspecial – Shield Charge – The Chosen Undead pulls out a Great Shield and starts charging forward with it for as long as they has stamina. If you press the special button again, they will thrust the shield forward, knocking opponents away or parrying them if they were mid attack. You are able to jump cancel the initial charge on hit, allowing for powerful followups on hit. If done in the air, the Chosen Undead will charge a set distance before automatically performing the shield bash, only hitting opponents once they perform said bash (You can press Special again to perform the bash sooner).
Dspecial Ground: Backstab – The Chosen Undead stabs forward with their blade, causing a very weak attack on contact, but that’s not how you should use the move, there’s 2 ways to hit it just right, either connecting it while the opponents isn’t facing you or when the opponent is in a parried/stunned state. Doing so will allow the Undead to perform a Riposte Attack! During this riposte you can also turn around to launch opponents the other way.
Dspecial Air: Plunging Attack – The Chosen Undead rears their sword back before swinging it downwards, diving down until they hit the ground. A fairly standard stall and fall with a strong spiking hit right at the start of the attack, making it a powerful finisher option off stage or a high risk landing option. The Chosen Undead is allowed to cancel the dive into a Double Jump, Air Dodge, or Uspecial after falling for enough time as long as they have the resources to do so.
Uspecial: Magic Weapon/Crystal Magic Weapon – The Chosen Undead grabs their sword with both hands as it is imbued with magic energy before performing a rising slash. After holding the special button for a bit of time, they will perform a more powerful multi hitting slash with a powerful and massive finisher slash that is a powerful stock closer and a general recovery boost, though doing so costs additional Stamina to perform and cannot be performed if they are low on Stamina.
