Simply Balanced Fervour: A Fervour Midpoint Alternative
This mod changes the default faith fervour to 50% and makes it a resting point. It includes an alternative to Morven’s Less Sinful Priest Scandals and it also lowers the fervour requirement for great holy wars. However, it doesn’t touch heresies for the sake of compatibility.
I always loved playing with Morven’s Fervour Midpoint Rebalance but at some point (after Legacy of Persia I think) it became outdated due to new game updates. The options available for anyone wishing to continue using the mod were to either accept bugs and incompatibilites, or to play with Morven’s Mods 1.12 Compatch for CMH, the latter of which requiring use of all of Morven’s mods. Since I was interested in neither of those options, here we are.
Like Fervour Midpoint Rebalance, this mod changes the default faith fervour to 50% and introduces fervour decay when above 50% and fervour growth when below 50%. It also includes an alternative to Morven’s Less Sinful Priest Scandals. Unlike Fervour Midpoint Rebalance however, this mod doesn’t replace the vanilla size-dependance mechanic and doesn’t touch heresies.
I recommend playing with Morven’s Fervour Inversion – Winning Holy Wars Increases Fervor, as it still works and frankly makes the game make more sense.
- Fervour starts and rests at 50%
- Fervour increases with time when below 50%
- Fervour decreases with time when above 50%
- Revoking a holy order lease now gives 5 fervour, instead of the vanilla 10
- Great holy war threshold lowered to 40% and 50%, instead of the vanilla 65% and 75%
- Changed trigger for sinful/virtous priest events, now requires a priest to have more sinful traits than virtous and vice versa
- Fervour impact from sinful/virtous priest events have been reduced by 50%, the gain/loss is now ±5 and ±10 instead of the vanilla ±10 and ±20
