North Korean Locomotives

All locomotives have been remastered. Changes include fixed LoD errors, remastered skins, locomotives now sit correctly on the rails, and additional skins and skin variants have been added for the Red Flag 1, as well as a new skin variant for the Toshiba DeRoI. Numerous other small changes have been implemented too.

I noticed that while there were locomotives from just about every Eastern Bloc country in the game, there was one notable exception; North Korea. I have decided to rectify this issue, and have added four locomotives commonly found on North Korea’s railways.

Japanese built boxcab electric locomotive originally used by the colonial Chosen Government Railway, later inherited by the Korean State Railway.

A heavy duty mining locomotive originally produced in East Germany, and later the Soviet Union. A number of these locomotives were exported to Korea to help in the reconstruction of the country following the Korean War.

A Czechoslovak locomotive, closely related to the CSD class E.499.0 (Skoda Type 12E). These locomotives were ordered by the Korean State Railway to bolster their number of electric locomotives during the mass electrification campaign carried out in the 1950s and 60s.

North Korea’s first domestically produced electric locomotive, and one of the early successes of the Chollima movement. Over 300 were produced across 2 decades, and continue to be used on North Korea’s railways today.
