Our story begins far from Westeros, on the Old Continent of Ulthos a land shrouded in mystery. In Westeros, little is known of Ulthos beyond scattered tales: that an ancient dynasty once ruled there, over realms said to rival the Seven Kingdoms in size and power.
From that fallen legacy, only one survivor remained the Last Alessian. Fleeing a dying world, he crossed the seas and arrived in Westeros, where fate brought him before House Targaryen. Aegon welcomed the exile, and from that meeting a bond was forged one that would shape the Reach for generations.
When the War of Conquest ignited, the Last Alessian rode to war under the dragon banners. At the Field of Fire, he hunted down the last surviving Gardener and broke what remained of their resistance. With a loyal contingent at his back, he marched on Highgarden and took the castle in Aegon’s name. By the time Aegon arrived atop Balerion, Highgarden was already secured, its gates opened, its banners lowered, its halls ready to be surrendered to the Conqueror.
For such unwavering service, Aegon rewarded him with lands and a seat of power, naming him Guardian of the South and granting him a palace to rule beside the Reach. Thus began an unbreakable oath: House Alessian bound to House Targaryen, steel to flame, loyalty to dragon.
