Taran-3A MBT
Small tank with a big gun. This medium-weight and low-profile main battle tank is fit for snowy, marshy, and semi-mountainous terrain. It is powered by a gas-guzzling gas turbine engine to combat the icy conditions of winter and high altitude locations.
One of my favorite models I’ve made. The design of this tank is inspired primarily by Soviet and Ukranian and Russian experimental and rare tanks, particularly the Object 640 Black Eagle, T-72/84-120 Yatagan, T-80BVM, T-14, and T-55M6. There is a desert variant just in case anyone wanted it. The commander’s MG is exposed for one reason: because it looks cool!
The Taran-3A features ERA blocks on the upper glacis, front of the turret, and sides of the hull. They cannot be damaged by small arms, but heavy arms can slowly chip away at the ERAs’ health and anti-tank weaponry detonates them on impact. Angle your tanks well!
The Taran-3A also has strong and weak points. The fenders only take 0.75X damage from anti-tank weapons while the engine block and turret bustle are susceptible to anything larger than small arms, taking 0.2X damage from heavy arms and 1.5X damage from AT weapons.
I decided to test particle effects for the tank gun and also added a layer of snow onto the Snow variant. Please tell me in the comments if future vehicles mods should have similar particle effects and regional skins have different accessories.
