It’s Valentine’s Day and Isaac doesn’t have anyone to be with. He was a lonely kid, having always kept to himself, drawing pictures and playing with his toys. Well, that’s what he thought, anyway.
This special Valentine’s Day mod adds Isaac’s secret admirer, Rebecca. She’s a quiet bookworm who likes to write stories and is secretly in love with Isaac. As her love for him grows, the hearts she obtains grant her astonishing abilities as she storms the basement to find her future wedded husband. Wait, isn’t it a little too early for that??
Rebecca is a special character that allows you to change into different "modes". Each mode corresponds to each of the different types of hearts in the game, (Red, Soul, Eternal, Black, Gold, and Bone) for a total of 6 different modes for you to play with.
Each mode provides Rebecca with unique effects, stats and special abilities, including a Special Dash and Special Attack. Therefore, you can have various gameplay styles that give you unique and fun (or Nicalis style rage-inducing) experience playing with Rebecca!
Changing modes as Rebecca is easy. After defeating the boss of any given floor, Rebecca’s mirror will spawn in the middle of the room. It shows the different kinds of hearts you currently hold, one at a time. When you find the mode you want to change into, touch the mirror change Rebecca to that mode! (of course, the heart you selected is removed as a as penalty) Afterwards, the mirror disappears.
If you are far away from the mirror, it quickly shifts from one heart to the other. You can also get close to the mirror, making the heart transitions slower. Just a useful tip just in case you are impatient!
If you want to get picky, blow up the mirror to get all kinds of hearts in the game! This way, you can also have new ways to get new modes with this method! However, you lose your ability to change a mode in that floor, so be wise!
Each mode you can use has a Special Dash which differs between each mode. To activate it, simply double-tap the directional key of your choice. (This has not been tested on controllers so I am not sure if this works.)
Red Heart – Dash forward with complete disregard for any danger whatsoever, Literally! You’ll be completely invincible while dashing!
Soul Heart – Dashes not to your liking? Not to worry, this mode lets you teleport instead, as determined by a handy crosshair! After teleport, you leave ectoplasm in the floor.
Golden Heart – Feel the weight of your feet beneath you as you stomp on the floor, splashing coins everywhere, at the cost of a slower dash. Nearby projectiles halt quickly so you can protect yourself and others from damage.(Keeper mains hate her, find out how this girl made quick cash with this one simple trick!)
Black Heart – Spawns a glowing orb that damages enemies. It slows down enemies, but that’s just about it. What’s the point of this? Keep reading to find out…
Eternal Heart – Move faster than light (or more specifically, 2x as fast as a Red Heart Dash) then bursting a blessed effect that ties enemies’ fates to each other. They feel othersdeath!
Bone Heart – You can use your bone to vault up high in the air, and when high enough, click any attack key to slam down to your enemies! If done right, you can bounce up again!
Each mode Rebecca uses comes with a Special Attack as well! These attacks offer many unique offensive methods for slaying monsters and bosses that block the path to your precious Isaac. To activate, you double-tap your attack key of your own choice. But be cautious! Special Attacks cost at least half a heart to use, so use it sparingly!
Red Heart – Fire a barrage of tears at the enemy. These synergize with your own tears so wacky tear synergies work well here.
Soul Heart – Fires Monstro’s Lung shots at the enemy. Also synergizable!
Golden Heart – Rebecca’s Wingman, Ned appears to help fight enemies! Ned dies fairly easily but can be effective if you have enough health to summon multiple of him.
Black Heart – Spawns a giant arcane circle that calls down a dark beam of energy! While powerful enough on its own, if you can direct it over one of your dark orbs, you’ll create a giant rip in space-time, or at least one big enough to seriously bring the hurt on your foes.
Eternal Heart – Shoots a laser in front of you in addition to spawning a bunch of angelic feathers, which have a Crack the Sky effect for even more damage!
Bone Heart – Depending on how much enemies you slammed on the last time makes this attack more or less powerful! Control where you land to eradicate the foe you so desire!

(If there are any bugs, do tell me :p the mod is not yet done yet but it will get more updates! if I can even program it in, maybe Repentance will give Rebecca two more modes to play with! Who knows?)
