Description:

As an enthusiast for the Swiss railways I have found the map generation of the game a bit lacking, and while the workshop is filled with beautiful maps, most of them do not have real elevation change between towns and industries, making mountain climbs a purely visual choice of the player. As such, I set out to create my own fictional map, based on the Alps.

The base of the map was generated with Not So Temperate Generator (Thanks to Pentasis for a great map generator mod!). I then spent numerous hours shaping the map, creating winding rivers, snowy mountain peaks, and challenging terrain that make steep climbs a necessity. I also paid great attention to preventing the edge of the map from being visible from the perspective of ground vehicles.

The 19 towns of the map were manually placed, and can be supplied by randomly generated 73 industries. The cargo needs of towns were balanced out.

The map size is Huge, so experimental map sizes must be enabled.
Open File explorer>This PC>Local Disc (C:)>Program Files (x86)>Steam>userdata>(Your Steam ID)>446800>Local
Open the settings text with notepad
Hit CTRL+F and type in experimental
Replace False to True
File>Save

While the map can be played without mods, the following are highly recommended:
Natural Environment Professional 2 [www.transportfever.net]
Alpine Climate – 900m
(Don’t forget to select the Alpine Climate under ‘Advanced Settings’ in the Climate drop down menu when loading the map to get your snowy mountains!)

For a bit of extra challange, you can also try:
Realistic Railway Slopes
