Description:

This mod allows you to adopt Roman culture during the Restoration of Rome event with the Byzantines. Traditions, as well as specific men-at-arms, were given to Roman culture so that it would not appear empty. Other additions have been made to make a game with the aim of reforming the Roman Empire more interesting.

Main additions:

– The Roman Legions tradition unlocks the Comitatenses legions, the Ballistes and the Cataphractaires (renamed in english for the occasion, so as not to have their name in Greek when playing a Roman character).
– Most of the Greek traditions from the DLC were also given to Roman culture.
– The Palatine Scholes replace the Varangian Guards for the Roman Emperor. However, there are no specific mechanics during succession, nor court position yet.
– The decision to Restore the Roman Empire gives the choice between adopting Roman culture and Hellenic culture by activating hard mode, adopting only Roman culture and remaining in easy mode or adopting neither religion Hellenic, nor Roman culture. Roman culture gets the innovations of the ancient culture from the person making the decision, to avoid technological delay.
– A Coptic Egyptian culture has been added for non-Muslim counties modeled on the Syriac culture. Vanilla Egyptian is renamed "Misri" and is a coptic/beduin hybrid
– Michael III starts as the ruler of the Byzantine Empire in 867 as in real life, and Basil is his co-Emperor and ruler of his noble family, allowing the player to still play with him. A event chain has been added around Basil’s conspiracy so playing him is more fun and the AI will often overthrow Michael. A game rule exists to allow Basil to directly start Emperor.
– The Kingdom of Jerusalem is created de jure when the Catholics unblock the Crusades.

Potential future additions:

– An improvement in the first and last names of dynasties for the Romans and Copts.
– Specific mechanics for the Palatine Scholes as for the Varangian Guards.
– Help to spread Roman culture after making the decision.

Localization:

The mod is fully localized in english and french

Credits:
– Thanks to The Fallen Eagle mod. I borrowed the Roman names from them looking forward to make my own list of names.
