Description:

This is a simple mod to enforce more realistic material costs in beds. Beds will require some base amount of wood and steel, with the bulk of the material being fabric or leather. Because the graphics only support one material being color-tinted, bed graphics were changed to show a dark brown wooden frame, with the bedding itself being the part of the graphic that changes based on your fabric/leather is choice.

This mod is generally geared towards more hardcore survival players looking for a few extra elements of challenge in their game, as the added cost complexity won’t make things easier for you in the early game.

Can be added or removed to save games no problem.

*At the moment, hospital beds are untouched. They may be patched in later.

**This mod may be unsuitable for players of extreme biomes without wood.

• Beds no longer accept metal, stone, or wood for their main material, but rather fabric or leather.
• Beds have a fixed cost of wood and steel, assumed to be used to build the frame. For example a small bed costs 5 steel, 15 wood, plus the 45 fabric/leather of your choice.
• Because the "Stuff material" is the fabric now, the texture masks were changed so that the part of the graphic that is color tinted is the bedding instead of the bed frame. The bed frames were, as a result, manually given a woody texture so they did not appear white and grey in-game. The prisoner/medic indicator colors are worked into the blanket trim.

• May conflict with any mods that changes the material costs for beds, in which case you should place this mod below it.

This mod was inspired by RealBeds. I decided to make my own version as I just wanted a light weight version of that mod that didn’t add any new content or defs to the game. If you are looking for something more in depth than this, I encourage you to go check it out.
