the Element 2 is an electric bus produced by Australian bus body manufacturer Custom Denning. The company was founded in 1935 as "Cycle Components Manufacturing Company" (CCMC), which would later become Custom Coaches Manufacturing Company, producing bodywork for buses primarily for private operators. Through various changes of ownership, the company would then go through multiple name changes, settling with Custom Coaches in 2004 untill 2018 when it fell into administration for the second time in 4 years. It would be purchased by the Dunn Group, a company with bus/coach operations in the UK and Australia, with Denning Manufacturing being acquired a year later.
The Element was first announced in 2021, and is a full-size electric bus, with hydrogen fuel cell versions planned in the future. It has also been announced that the Element will be offered in markets outside of Australia, with plans for the type to be demonstrated in the UK in 2024 being announced in November of 2023, in hopes that their existing ability to compete with Chinese brands such as BYD and Yutong will be equally successful abroad.
The first example is expected to arrive in the UK in January, with a further 3 in February to go to a Rotala group company, the Chief Executive of the group being the owner of Custom Denning. There has also been a concept render shown of an Element 2 based double-decker in Bee Network livery, so it seems this design may hopefully become a familiar sight on the UK roads soon enough!
This mod represents a single door Element 2 with british style licence plates, set up to work with the E-Bus DLC as an electric vehicle.
This is my first mod for this game so some things might be a bit scuffed, but hopefully this is the beginning of many more mods for this game in the future!
