Reflection Probes Mutator [V2] (FIXED)
WE ARE SO BACK! Reflection Probes Mutator V2 is FINALLY OUT, and comes with an way better REALTIME MENU, meaning that you will no longer need to change configuration in the "mutator config" page!
It comes with new configs, without having to select between premade qualities, so now you’re free of selecting anything you want! (Or at least what steelraven have added…) And with a new timed render system, so you can render the reflections less often for way better perfomance
This mutator enables Reflection Probes, an Unity feature that allows it to take a "360º image", and turn it into a reflection for every object that is reflective, resulting in enhanced realistic graphics or shaders.
Be carefull, since this is a really power-consuming task, taking a 360 size image every frame, to convert it into reflection isn’t something easy for your PC. Hopefully "time slicing" is enabled so it will be easy peasy in low resolutions.
Here, a quick explaination of each setting:
Resolution: The resolution of the image taken. Its basically the direct image quality of the render
Bounding Box: The area where the reflections act. It is NOT the range of the render, its just the range where the render AFFECTS.
Render Distance: The minimum and maximum distance that the probe can render. And the maximum distance where the probe can get the shadows from the map to render.
Refresh Time: The time that will be between each render iteration (In seconds)
Intensity: How much does the reflection affect. It can be the brightness of it too.
TIP: It works better in close areas/insides. It won’t have a big impact in open area maps like fields etc.
You can press the Keypad Minus (-) in game for enable/disable the reflections, for testing purposes or any reason you want.
