Prehistoric Hunting – Scout Camps
"Prehistoric Hunting" buffs Camps and makes them available more easily at the beginning of the game. Camp resources were changed to provide more production.
- Camps provide 2 Gold in all game versions (Fall 2019 patch added this only for GS)
- Camps provide +1 Food if built next to a river
- Camps can be built by Scouts (and other recon units) who receive 1 build charge for it
- Camps no longer require Animal Husbandry to build
- Fur now provides 1 Production instead of 1 Food (in addition to 1 Gold which is unchanged)
This mod is part of a small series aiming to enhance the early game with simple tweaks which make working the land early on more exciting even with very few improvements built. Entries in the series so far:
- Prehistoric Hunting (for Camps and Scouts)
- Stone rocks! (for Stone/Quarries)
- Open Ranges (for Pastures)
Compatible with all versions of the game, no DLC or Expansions required. No known mod incompatibilities.
Unfortunately, all units with build charges can chop. Please let me know your experiences (i.e.: not only speculation) with the mod and whether that makes the Scout too powerful, in which case I might remove that feature again.
