Description:

Reworks a motley collection of skills whose play patterns I find annoying or wrong:

Defense Abuse. These were reworked because they’re too easy to take advantage of by repeatedly attacking larger armies with 1 Scout in order to trigger their effects.

  • Cycle of Seasons: Now starts at Spring (Strengthen) instead of at Winter (damage). Also just thematically makes sense to start with Spring
  • Fog of Insanity: Trigger chance has been increased to 30% from 20%, but only works in siege battles
  • Throne of Insidious Whispers: Trigger chance has been increased to 100% from 90%, and affects 5 units, up from 3, but only works in siege battles

Constricting Focus: Works on all magic attacks, not just base attacks. Isn’t increased for single attacks anymore.

Crystal Focus: Works on all magic attacks, not just base attacks.

Fanatical Workforce: It was just annoying having to cast it over and over again. I also think effects like these should scale with population size. Casting cost has been reduced to 30 from 45, the effect is permanent, and the effect is now +3 Production per Population, -1 Food & Mana per Population

Harvest Population: Harvest Population should scale with population, seems pretty simple to me. Completely blocking growth is also just a dumb way for this spell to work. Now gives +2 Souls, -3 City Stability & Food per Population

Havoc Magic: Works on all magic attacks, effects are no longer increased for single-shot attacks

Necrotic Magic: Inflicts Diseased instead of Decay so there isn’t overlap with Tome of Cycles (which thematically feels like it should play well with Shadow). Works for all magic attacks instead of base attacks

Reaper: I think tier 5s should be designed to generally be strongest as 1-of units. The Fey scourges are a pretty good example since they have an aura that doesn’t stack. To facilitate this, the Reaper’s Dark Rites now triggers whenever any unit dies, not just an enemy one, but only the closest Reaper gets the effect (+10 Health, 1 Strengthened)

Summon Copper Golem: Now lets you build Copper Golems in cities instead of being a summon spell. Changed because all other golems are built, not summoned.
