Description:
Plin Plin Plon *Crying Intensifies

As I played as Rome, duking it out against the Macedon, I suddenly heard Gael’s theme through my friend’s computer. I couldn’t help but think, “This ♥♥♥♥ goes hard,” and realized that it fit perfectly with the intensity of battle. I thought, why not bring this epic music to Rome II?

Introducing Soulsborne Music mod

I created this mod in three months during my one term in college, fueled by coffee, panic, and questionable life choices (joke?). The music in Soulsborne games, composed by Yuka Kitamura and others, isn’t just background noise—it’s a storytelling force. Tracks from Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Demon Souls and Elden Ring evoke emotions that elevate each battle. The powerful, nostalgic pull of Soulsborne music, with its haunting strings and ethereal choral elements, weaving a profound sense of melancholy and triumph. The orchestral arrangements, blending somber strings with subtle choral elements, create an atmosphere where every note feels like a lingering memory of past struggles and victories. Now, throw that into Total War: Rome II, and boom, you’ve got a game where every battle feels like a conclusion to a once mighty empire. The clash of Roman armies against the world would hit differently, as the music cranks up the drama, turning those tactical moves into moments of pure cinematic glory. It’s not just background noise—it transforms the whole atmosphere, adding that extra emotional punch. Trust me, this music doesn’t just add to the atmosphere; it makes it more engaging, turning a good game into something that sticks with you long after the battle’s over.

Features
  • Track Selection: The mod features 165 tracks from Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Nioh, Lies of P, and Demon Souls. Each culture features 12 battle tracks, 15 campaign tracks, and 7 marching tracks.
  • Unique Music to Each Culture: Tailor music to reflect the unique atmosphere and identity of each culture, ensuring it is both distinct and culturally authentic. Eastern culture embodies mystical and exotic rhythms, while barbarian culture resonates with chaotic and raw energy. Greek culture features melodramatic and heroic orchestration, whereas Roman culture emphasizes militaristic and triumphant themes.
  • Historical Authenticity: All soundtracks are carefully selected and adapted to ensure they align with the antiquity period, maintaining authenticity while seamlessly blending and improving the overall atmosphere.
  • Seamless Flow: Transitions between tracks are as smooth—never jarring, always immersive. The music fits perfectly, whether you’re leading legions or battling the Parthians.
  • Epic Battle Tunes: The pounding rhythm of Soul of Cinder and Slave Knight Gael hits as you charge into battle, matching the intensity of your clash with enemies.
  • Relaxing Campaign: Traversing the campaign map? The echoes of Majula, Hunter’s Dream, and Leyndell will remind you of the haunting beauty of Fromsoftware’s iconic worlds.
  • Personal Touches: Some tracks have been modified by me to better fit the gameplay, ensuring the music complements the pacing, battles, UI, and campaign.
  • A Fan Tribute: Whether you’re a battle-hardened Soulsborne vet or a Rome II strategist, this mod brings together the best of both worlds for an unforgettable experience.

Keep in Mind
  • Future Updates: Updates are possible, especially if there are requests for additional tracks or enhancements.
  • Track Suggestions: Feel free to share your track recommendations, though note that not all suggestions may be included.
  • No Need for Donation: This mod is completely free to use. To show support, simply share it with others and enjoy the experience!
  • Compatibility: The mod is compatible with most other mods, but be sure to check for conflicts in the mod manager, especially with mods that alter music or audio.
  • Porting: This mod is specifically designed for Total War: Rome II, with no plans to port it to other Total War games.
  • Bug Reporting: If you encounter a bug, please report it and provide a clear description of how it occurred—let’s keep it constructive!
  • Video Quality: Please note that my laptop is not very powerful, and recording with OBS, which is resource-intensive, causes gameplay stuttering that may affect the music in the YouTube video. I assure you there would be no stuttering once you downloaded the mod. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Acknowledgement

I do not own any of the music or the franchise, and I’m not officially affiliated with FromSoftware, Creative Assembly, Neowiz Games, or any other related entities. This mod is simply my way of blending several things I love: Soulsborne games, Total War, Lies of P, and Nioh. A huge shoutout to FromSoftware for creating the incredible worlds of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, and to Creative Assembly for developing my all-time favorite strategy game.

The music featured in this mod is composed by talented artists, including Yuka Kitamura, Motoi Sakuraba, Tsukasa Saitoh, Ariane D. Gauthier, Shunsuke Yoshida, Seiji Kameda, Yoshimi Kudo (Soulsborne series), Heitor Pereira (Lies of P), and Yugo Kanno (Nioh series), and Solas Composer. A heartfelt thanks to them for their inspiring work, which made this mod possible in the first place.
