What this does:
  • Makes mech defence upgrades feel more impactful.
  • Attacks that deal too little damage get "mitigated" by the armor.
  • Weak ranged attacks "reflect" bullets in random directions.
  • Adds 6 mech horns(platings) alter the effects of this mod. (Craftable at the mech station in" bodies")
  • Reflected bullets keep damageType and statusEffects.

I felt that upgrading "Defense" in mech bodys was not that impactful, that walking through a planet would end up thrashing my mech, disregarding how strong it was. That even the most powerful and expensive modded mechs could still be beaten by a bunch of angry poptops.

But no longer!

When your mech has enough armor that it reduces the damage of weaker enemies to nothing, they really get shrugged off, dealing 0 damage to you.
I mean, armor made of a material that surpasses tungsten by a factor of almost 2 should be amazing.

Notes:
  • Vanilla mech armors range from tier 3 to tier 7.
  • Modded bodies that go beyond 7 (Like Venturer X) are really strong.
  • Space enemies are stronger than non-space enemies.
  • NPCs with "small caliber" weapons (fast firing or shotguns) are easily deflected.
Modders:
  • Deflect chance, reflect damage, damage threshold and deflect angle are configurable via patches.

Uninstalling:

Can be freely uninstalled.
