Multiclassing
This mod allows you to pick a second class for a soldier and train them in a few choice abilities granted by that class. Utility Slot Sidearms Extended is needed in order to provide the utility slot weapons necessary to make most of these abilites work. You can’t do much with most Specialist abilities without a gremlin, for example.
A soldier must be at least a sergeant rank or higher in order to multiclass. If you have eligible soldiers, it works the same as training a Rookie: put them into the Guerilla Tactics School, pick a class, and wait a few days. When they come out, they’ll have some shiny new abilities that you can buy in the Training Center.
Be warned: There may still be bugs. I can’t test every possible combination of abilities.
Multiclass abilities are granted via a new fourth line of abilities on the soldier’s promotion screen, so you’ll want to have a Training Center (or a mod that lets you use the new promotion screen all the time) in order to take full advantage.
The text for some abilities isn’t right because it points to your secondary slot item instead of the proper item. This just affects the text. The ability itself will work properly.
This mod has only been tested to work with Utility Slot Sidearms Extended for WOTC, which is a different mod from Utility Slot Sidearms WOTC by Ginger; this mod may or may not work with that one. It currently only works with the game’s standard classes, but you can add support for modded classes via editing the ini. It is fully compatible with my Additional XCOM Abilities mod, including checks to ensure that your random perks won’t clash with the ones that you gain via multiclassing. However, neither mod requires the other, and both can be used independently, as well.
This mod works best with a new campaign, but that isn’t required. However, if your Guerilla Tactics School has already been built, you’ll have to get rid of it and replace it with the givefacility console command (or just rebuild it) in order for this mod to work. This also means the mod may be incompatible with other mods that make changes to the GTS.
