Description:

Frontlines is a weapon project inspired by Battlefield 1, essentially seeking to bring a style of arcadey early 1900s weaponry to the workshop. It also serves as a way for me to improve on modeling weapons and, for the first time ever, animating them myself.

First true Marksman weapon, but 5 guns have faster muzzle velocities than it so far. lol.

This mod contains the ’85 Reggie-Bee, an experimental design that eventually led to the legendary Bee-Deerfield Short Magazine. Utilizing a hefty black powder round, this rifle packs an incredible punch, and even one-shots opponents if hit between 30 and 60 meters. Finally, it uses a novel-for-its-era detachable box magazine, which is swapped out for reloading. However, compared to later, longer-ranged smokeless powder rounds, the rounds of the ’85 Reggie-Bee are very slow, and have much higher bullet drop. The Reggie-Bee had a few other entries in its prototype series, but most were rejected. Partially because of Reggie’s, quote, ‘unprofessional behavior fitting more of a rat than a man’.

Historical Section: This is based on the M1885 Remington-Lee in .45-70, a bolt-action rifle that didn’t achieve a ton of success on it’s own. It’s more famous for being the "Lee" in Lee-Metford and Lee-Enfield, as the core detachable magazine and bolt design was later modified by the British into those two extremely famous rifles. While the Lee-Metford and Lee-Enfield were not reloaded by their magazine, I chose to make the ’85 Reggie-Bee reloaded as such, as I felt it would provide a unique experience when compared to most other manually repeating rifles of this era.
