Description:
More Ethnic Variety Please!

In Victoria 3, each pop has an "ethnicity" value, which sometimes looks a little off. Some look uncanny, inaccurate, or generalized… If this actually bothers you, Phenotypes Plus is the mod for you!

Phenotypes Plus is a Victoria 3 mod that primarily adds better random human generation for non-historical characters and pops. It also adds a lot of new names for generated characters.

New Ethnicities/Phenotypes So Far:
  • Aboriginal
  • Alpine (+Eastern Variant)
  • Amazonian
  • Athabaskan (Currently also Inuit)
  • Balkan
  • Bantu (+Southern +Malagasy Variants)
  • Congolese
  • Eastern European
  • Ethiopian (+Nilo-Saharan Variant)
  • Germanic (+Celtic Variant)
  • Guinean
  • Indian (+Dravidian Variant)
  • Indochinese
  • Iranian
  • Japonic
  • Khoisan
  • Mayan
  • Mediterranean (+North African Variant)
  • Melanesian
  • Mongolian
  • Nilotic
  • North Arab
  • Numic
  • Oto-Manguean
  • Patagonian
  • Pimo-Nahuan
  • Polynesian
  • Quechuan
  • Sami
  • Sinitic
  • Siouan (Currently also Algonquian and Muskogean)
  • South Arab
  • Sudanese (+Senegambian Variant)

Disclaimer:

I know you’re probably looking at this mod and thinking it is so great and powerful (please star.) But there is one problem. The world has so much ethnic variety and it is frankly impossible to capture all of it. (talking to you, Africa and Asia.) This mod very much generalizes a lot of it, so be mindful of that.

Todo:
  • Add Muskogean, Algonquian, and Inuit based ethnicities
  • Revise Karluk and Kipchak

Compatibility:

This mod critically changes the ethnicities and culture files. Any mod that has a lot of changes to those will need reconciliation. This excludes mods that add new character dna and clothing mods.

Special Thanks:
  • Thanks to Lord R for encouraging me to continue to finish this project.
  • Thanks to Nightingale for a random question they had in the Vic 3 modding server. It helped me find out how to mod ethnicities. (lol)
  • Thanks to Taylor for inspiring some changes to the Aboriginal people.
  • Very much based off the More Ethnicities Mod.
