BR Class 730
The British Rail Class 730 (Aventra) is an Electric Multiple Unit manufactured from 2020 to 2024 by Bombardier (now Alstom) for use by West Midlands Trains, being introduced into passenger service in November 2023. The fleet is separated into two batches of 48 730/0s, and 36 730/2s.
The two separate batches are compromised of:
The 730/0 for commuter services in and around Birmingham [operated by West Midlands Railway] (also currently seeing use, as of the publishing of this mod, on London Northwestern Railway services between London Euston and Tring/Milton Keynes). These sets have a capacity of 546 per 3 car set, and a top speed of 90mph (145kmh). A maximum of 3 sets can be coupled together.
The 730/2 for long distance services on the London Northwestern Railway network serving London, Birmingham, Crewe, and Liverpool. These sets have a capacity of 691 per 5 car set, and a top speed of 110mph (180kmh). A maximum of 2 sets can be coupled together.
