⟢ Circuit breakers come with 10 fuse clips. After 10 triggers, they will break and need repair.
⟢ Line fuses are available after researching batteries. They don’t require components, but are destroyed after a single trigger.
⟢ Circuit breakers and fuses can be placed on walls.
⟢ Fuse usage, battery drain, damage, short-circuit behavior, breakdown risk, and notifications can be customized from the mod settings menu.
⟢ For a smooth upgrade, a small check runs on map load to replace old breakers with updated ones. It’s safe and fast, but you can disable it in mod settings if no longer needed.
● Circuit breakers switch off and stop power surges (⌁Zzztt⌁) from reaching batteries.
● You need to research Machining to build circuit breakers.
● Place them in key spots along power lines before they connect to batteries or generators.
● If there’s an alternate path to your batteries without a circuit breaker,
the power surge will take that route and cause ☠︎︎ mayhem ☠︎︎ .
● Beware of the ⌁wires⌁ between a circuit breaker and a battery. To minimise the risk, avoid using long wires in protected areas.
⋈ Requires Harmony.
⋈ Can be added to existing saves. If uninstalled, existing circuit breakers will throw a one-time error, but it’ll fix itself by the next save.
⋈ This mod patches the ShortCircuitUtility class, and not compatible with other short circuit mods.
⋈ This mod patches the IncidentWorker_ShortCircuit class to optionally allow all electrical buildings to short-circuit. If you turn this off in the settings, the patch disables cleanly and won’t cause conflicts.
