Royal Navy CVA-01 aircraft carrier
Here begins the what if, the Royal Navy had a design in the 1960s called CVA-01, the replacement for HMS Victorious, Hermes, Eagle and Ark Royal, these were cancelled due to budget restraints along with the Type 82 destroyers.
What we have here is an approximation of what could have been in 1985, following the lessons from the Falklands war, with SeaWolf replacing the 4 SeaCat launchers, Sea Dart on the quarterdeck (Orel has none so placed in a nearby location) and CWIS Launchers, this does include the weird behind the bridge taxiway on the original designs.
Featuring A-6 Buccaneers, with their correct loadouts, internal bays, custom weapons and engine performance matching the Bucc’s, all with skins by GoldLeader108
The P.139B, called Osprey in the mod is also included as the AEW aircraft, using the E-2’s radar as the original FMICW radar was actually cancelled on the Nimrod AEW.3 as the pulse doppler radar was concidered superior, and a proposal was to refit those same Nimrod’s with E-2 radars, all skinned by GoldLeader108
Sea Kings again, skin’s by Goldleader108, are the same as standard
Phantom FG.1’s, engine performance are changed from the F-4J to how the Spey’s would perform low down, more acceleration but lower top speed, combined with Skyflash, slightly altered AIM-7E completes this package
