Description:
B42.1.0 update:

Sandbox options now includes a control for discomfort that will affect the maximum discomfort you will experience from your clothing. This mod affects the rate at which you reach the maximum discomfort level of your clothing, and still works in B42.1.0. If you just want to reduce/disable the total discomfort from clothing then use sandbox settings, if you want to keep the eventual discomfort but have a longer amount of time before it bothers your character then use this mod.

Ever thought "wearing a respirator isn’t nice, but it doesn’t send me into a spiral of depression within five minutes" or perhaps "wearing a bulletproof vest all day would suck, but surely it takes more than ten minutes before I’m screaming in agony"?

This mod slows the rate of discomfort increase, meaning you can wear protective gear for longer before you see the discomfort moodle and associated sadness increase.

By default discomfort will go up at 10% but drop back down at 100% speed after removing gear, but these values can be adjusted in sandbox settings. This mod does not affect the maximum discomfort value reached, just how long it takes to get there.

FAQ

Can this be added to/removed from an existing save?

Yes.

Can this safely be added to/removed from an existing save?

Also yes.

Will this mod work in multiplayer?

Yes, but due to poor coding there will be performance issues because the main loop will run playerCount^2 times. Which is fine when there is only one player, and I’ll fix it before B42 multiplayer.

What does the "Ticks between checks" sandbox option do?

For performance reasons this mod doesn’t correct discomfort every frame. If you’re using a mod that showa the discomfort meter directly this will result in it raising and lowering every X frames, which can be distracting. Either turn off the discomfort meter and just wait for moodles to show up, or lower the number of ticks in this setting. A value of 1 will run on every frame update and completely eliminate any flicker, and while I can’t notice any performance issue like this it does seem excessive.
