(WORKS)Dynamic Agents DEI+vanilla New RPG elements
All new features are save game compatible.
This mod now works in conjunction with my Realistic Generals and Admirals mod. Use both mods together to role play your characters https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1966699315
As I continue to work on this mod it is taking on more of a role play feel, as certain attributes will now allow you to specialize your agents. Champions are the first ones to have this fully fleshed out.
Update:
Dignitaries/Governors (DEI) now start at Authority 3 to give all characters in the province they are in positive loyalty. This works to counterbalance early game low loyalty from your other characters if you use my Realistic Generals mod, otherwise it will help more generally. This goes up from to about 10, but once the agent starts to flex its muscles of Authority, they start to horse trade to improve their own position. This will start to lower loyalty at around Authority 13 and up. If you look though, the same agent and stat, boosts diplomatic rating with foreign nations. Now the player has a choice to send the agent on a "diplomatic mission" so as to not lower the already fragile loyalty of opposing political parties.
What does this mod do beside that exactly?
For now, I do plan to add more, but it gives each agents strongest attribute a unique buff once they hit rank 4 or 5 in said attribute. This is besides the role play advances this mod is taking.
For example –
Champions are a Zeal based agent. If you choose to rank up Zeal this will build your Champion in the direction of an agent that trains the troops while taking an active role in battles. Eventually as he gets stronger the Champion will "join the generals bodyguard", which will boost that units stats.
Melee damage for the army they are embedded with will go up with a buff from 1-15%. This represents the Champion training the army how to better kill their opponents.
Champions now also boost the defensive melee stat of the generals bodyguard if they are embedded with one. This starts at Auth 7 and represents the Champion serving in the generals bodyguard.
Finally to mimic many mercenary captains of the ancient world he will train up the armies cavalry which will reflect in the charge stat as he ranks up. Starting at Zeal 7 any cavalry in that army will go from a 2-15% bonus.
If you would like your Champion to have spent his life leading a mercenaries in battle before joining you, then rank up his Authority. This will give the Champion more gravitas if you will with local Mercenaries, but only as he ranks up. Early on he is finding his way.
Merc cost to recruit will go from +25 to -50 at 20 Authority. This Hero also motivates those that he recruits but again only as he gets more confidence and ranks up. This will give a -10 Merc morale to +15 at his peak of power.
Spy’s are Subterfuge based agents and for them they will boost the raiding income of any army in the same region as them. This represents the spy scouting out areas and as he gets better at his craft finding the best targets for his allied army to raid.
Starting at Subterfuge level 5 Spy’s now stop the food production through work with enemy bandits. This will effect the enemy province that the spy is in and starts at a 10% stoppage all the way to 100 at level 20.
Dignitaries have a very interesting buff with authority. To live up to their name and even more so in their DEI version, whichever faction owns the region they are in will get a diplomatic boost towards your faction. This starts small around rank 4 at 10, but will go up to 50 by rank 20.
These bonuses seek to achieve a couple things. One, to make agents more interesting. Two, to make them much more valuable as they rank up, which should force players to be very careful with them. The AI will luck into some of the bonuses, particularly the one from the Champion, but I feel the fun this adds for the player will balance out the advantage we get. I run other mods to add challenge and play DEI on hard, so any little bit helps.
I hope you enjoy, please comment any ideas as I seek to expand this mod and my other. Check out my Generals mod for a full character importance experience. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1966699315
