Pearl Harbor ’88
Description:
After a terrorist attack on Soviet oil refineries in Azerbijan, gas prices in the USSR skyrocket. Desperate to quell it’s populace and restore faith in the administration, the politburo decides the best course of action is to launch an invasion of Iran in order to enforce access to the oil fields in the region. Doing this would draw NATO intervention, so plans are drawn up to launch a first strike against the west. Your part to play is launching a Pearl Harbor style attack on US Navy assets in Hawaii to make their operations in the pacific difficult, buying the USSR more time for their invasions and kickstarting World War III.

Note 1:
I’d like to thank everybody who has subscribed to and played this mission. It has now reached the point where it is the most popular mission this week, beating out other, more experienced creators who uploaded their missions around a similar time frame. It means so much to me and I love you all. My next upload will be a short campaign for you to enjoy, involving an alternative-history of Iran being a regional naval power and commissioning Kidd-class destroyers. Stay tuned. <3

Note 2:
I want your honest opinion, please let me know everything about your experience playing this, especially as it is my first mission. Thank you.

Note 3:
Just a note I’d like to put here after 150 odd-days since I put out this mission. I am still incredibly thankful to everyone who supported this mission and especially to Stealth17Gaming who put this mission on his channel, which likely gave the popularity boost required for this thing to hit the #5 spot for Sea Power’s workshop single missions. To be completely honest I never intended for this mission to get popular. If anything it was more of a testbed for me to learn how to make a mission for this game. I used it as a tutorial to learn the capabilities of myself, the editing tools, and my PC. Internally it’s a hot mess and the mission takes so long to complete that changes would require me going through hours of gameplay again so if I wanted to make changes to it I’d honestly just make a remake (redux?) of the mission and go through some new ideas and changes to it. I had people asking me for tips on making missions after I released this and to anyone who wants my help is probably asking the wrong person, this is, after all, my first mission and though it performed well, I believe there are much better missions to look at and use as a tutorial to see the inner workings of them. I highly recommend Pacific Strike ’85 as it taught me how to get briefings, images, and a couple of other things to work for this mission. Thank you to everyone again and I hope to continue making workshop content for this game.
