Description:

Are you getting bored with the typical vanilla EU4 experience?

Would you like to play a well balanced mod that drastically improves the economic side of the game, but isn’t an overkill like MEIOU & Taxes?

Or maybe your laptop is just like mine: too old and wrinkly to smoothly run most of total conversion mods out there?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Lords and peasants, playing tall is real again!

Welcome to Economy Reimagined 3.0!

ER 3.0 is a total conversion mod designed to offer a more challenging and realistic experience of managing the economy of your nation. It adds depth and allows new strategies of obtaining wealth for your country.

Another goal of ER is to avoid the perception of a completely different game compared to vanilla EU4, despite a multitude of changes.

Performance

The overall performance should be almost as smooth as vanilla EU4, with the exception of the first monthly tick.

Afterwards, the game should run quite smoothly. If it slows down significantly, please report an issue in the comments or on the Discord server.

New Changes and Compatibility

Compatibility with Europa Expanded
Economy Reimagined is compatible with Europa Expanded through a 3rd mod called "Economy Reimagined (Europa Expanded)" which can be downloaded here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3451415242
This requires separate prior subscriptions to both Economy Reimagined and Europa Expanded.

Version 3.0
The list of changes in this update:
1. AI stating decisions made deterministically: AI will now be unable to state provinces that are not profitable.
2. Missionary debuff of -0.1% is now per Population Level, NOT per development. This allows for converting much larger provinces in late game.
3. Missions that compare current income to the original income have been adjusted (reduced by 45%-50% or completely removed as requirements).
4. Small rework of existing casus bellis: regular Conquest CB now gives 150% aggressive expansion and disables taking provinces that are not your cores or claims. This makes the claim giving missions a lot more powerful, as well as any extra CBs like Superiority, Diplomatic Insult etc.
5. The introduction of the Conquer State CB, which gives 75% Aggressive Expansion and only allows taking provinces that belong to your existing states. This allows for cleaner borders and slows down blobbing.
6. Enforce Peace diplomatic option removed (it says "Option Removed" as it is impossible to completely delete from the list), and replaced with Threaten Intervention and Intervene In Defensive War.
7. Intervene In Defensive War diplomatic option added: joins the war immediately on the defending side and makes the intervening country the war leader. Not allowed if the defending nation is your rival. Only allowed if you are in the same religious group as the defender AND: the main attacker in this war is your rival OR if you are the HRE emperor and the defending nation is a member of the HRE (even if the attacker is also in HRE). Intervening to defend a nation increases their opinion by +50 and their trust by +10.
8. Threaten Intervention diplomatic option added, similar to Enforce Peace but completely reworked. If the attacker is your rival OR you are the HRE emperor and the defender is in HRE (even if attacker is in the HRE), you qualify to be able to Threaten Intervention. The two other conditions are: you are in the same religious group as the defender and the war score in the war is at least +25% in favour of the attacking side. The AI can accept or reject it: if it accepts, a white peace is signed. If it rejects it: you join the war on the defending side but you do NOT become the leader of this war.
9. Grand Reformist personality added: only available for characters with the admin skill of 6. Gives +100% of reform progress growth.
10. Promote State Infrastructure button is now disabled if you gain less than +0.5 National Development Points. This button was a noob magnet that sounded useful but wasn’t actually viable until at least mid game. Adding this condition disables the button until it actually can be useful.
