Player faction can now generate characters
If you played this game you may have noticed that if you play as a Nanman or Yellow Turban the character pool tend to get empty – at least emptier than for the Han. You will also notice that as a Bandit you’ll never really get new bandit characters in the character pool either (unless they come from another bandit such as Zheng Jiang, Yan Baihu or Zhang Yan for exemple)
This is because CA purposefully disabled the character generation for the player. This mod reverses that change and allow new characters to generate in the player character pool.
IMPORTANT NOTE :
This feature was disabled for a reason and the ability to generate characters as the player is a feature basically left unfinished by CA – so you will see some weird behaviours such as : Level 0 characters (they will be level 1 when recruited) or not being able to see a character background and traits before recruiting them. This is because the character is essentially "semi-generated" instead of fully generated (like those you get from the AI.
Atm I don’t see a solution to that, maybe someone with more talent than me can figure that part out.
FURTHERMORE :
– I didn’t test in MP, try that at your own peril.
– YTR do get some items with their new characters.
Tables edited (not datacored so it should be good compatibility-wise as I didn’t need to remove stuff) :
– campaign_variables (this is to enable the spawn in the player faction)
– character_generation_template_game_mode_details (this is to have every generic character show up as level 1 instead of ranging from 1 to 4)
