Description:

Speeds Medieval Immersion
Mediaeval Immersion is a mod that seeks to improve Crusader Kings III in a number of significant ways including adding new titles, decisions, faiths, and cultures, as well as tweaking vanilla ethnicities to be more historically accurate. Overall this mod aims to improve historical accuracy, but without railroading or sacrificing balance and playability. Over 60 new cultures have been added that are playable in normal gameplay, and more can be used through the ruler designer- as I have tried to trace a culture’s history back to its ancestors when I can. I am a fairly new modder and this is a pretty ambitious mod, so there may be bugs or things that I have missed- any and all feedback is welcome.

Major Changes

  • Over a dozen coats of arms have been redesigned to strike a balance between historical accuracy and aesthetics.
  • Cultural aesthetics have been shifted in some cases to more accurately represent cultures and regional variation.
  • Changes have been made to Christianity in order to make it more historically accurate.
  • Ethnicities have been tweaked and moved around a bit.
  • Many new duchies have been added to represent both historical duchies, or otherwise areas of frequently contested control or influence.
  • In 1066 the Kingdom of Germany does not exist as a separate entity from the HRE, with the Stem Duchies holding de-jure lands instead as kingdom level ‘principalities’.
  • In many areas cultures were split or moved around in order to more accurately represent people groups in the Middle Ages
  • Decisions added for the player to form certain historical dynasties if they meet the right conditions (Billung –> Ascania, Robertine –> Capet, Etichonen –> Habsburg, Sieghardinger –> Hohenstaufen, Hunfriding –> Hohenzollern, Hunfriding –> Wettin, Luitpolding –> Wittelsbach ).
  • A ‘imperial disunity’ debuff modifier afflicts the Karling Dynasty in the 867 start and weakens them somewhat, in order to represent their decline.
  • Starting around the 900’s some pagan rulers will get a decision to convert to an organized religion they converted to historically.
  • And much more…
