Description

Airborne AI introduces aircraft that patrol the skies and hunt players from above.

When an aircraft flies within 1 km of a player, a warning message is triggered — giving players a brief window to take cover. If the aircraft gets closer and has line of sight, the player is "spotted," and a squad of AI paratroopers is deployed. These AI will parachute to the ground, track to the player’s last known position, and begin a search.

It works like this:

  • Aircraft spawns and begins flying across the map
  • Players within 1 km are warned of the approaching aircraft
  • Players can choose to hide or risk being spotted
  • If spotted, AI paratroopers bail out and descend via parachute
  • Upon landing, AI move to the last known location of the player
  • Aircraft despawns after reaching the far edge of the map

  • Can now set custom message, title and icon for air support flare
  • Define one specific loadout for use with air support flare
  • Define scripted objects as airborne triggers (airdrop containers, dynamic events, etc)
  • Choose which parachute your ai will use
  • Parameter to allow server owners to tweak parachute performance.
  • Allow aircraft to loiter (fly in circles) on an area after spotting a player
  • Config time that aircraft will loiter before returning to its previous course

Additional important features:

  • Compatible with any map
  • Aircraft can be heard from a long distance
  • AI may make mistakes — not always a perfect drop!
  • AI can fire weapons while parachuting
  • Players can avoid detection by hiding indoors, behind objects, or in thick trees
  • Any AI loadout can be used. This mod will automatically equip paratrooper AI with parachutes
  • After a drop, aircraft re-arm and are ready for another drop in 60 seconds
  • Adjustable AI behavior modes:
    • Land and hold position
    • Land, move to spotted location, and hold
    • Land, move to spotted location, and begin patrolling 8 random waypoints
    • Land, move to spotted area, and begin a indefinite patrol around the spotted area. Loops, never ends

Requirements

Installation
  • Install as a client-side mod
  • Install the required mods listed above
  • Launch the server once — this will generate a config file at: `profiles/AirborneAI/`
  • Refer to the mod folder for detailed explanations of all config options

No repacks, reuploads, or redistributions are allowed under any circumstances.

FAQ
  • Yes you need Expansion. AI at minimum. I recommend Bundle
  • Yes you need admirals parachute mod
  • If the aircraft isn’t making any noise you don’t have all the required mods installed
  • If your paratroopers are walking underwater – That is not this mod… Its the map you’re using
  • Signal flares may not reliably call aircraft if fired near thee edges of the map (working on it)
  • Trees and steep slopes are a real danger to paratroopers
