—4. This Mod
–The vanilla Glassworks method used to make tableware and containers uses lead glass. In contrast, architectural window glass is generally made with soda-lime glass. Soda-lime glass does not contain lead, so it would be unnatural to use it as "Plate glass".
–In this MOD, the conventional lead glass is treated as "Glassware" and architectural window glass is separated as "Plate glass."
–It may be confusing, but the graphics of the "Glassworks" and "Glassware" have been revamped. The graphics of the "Plate glass factory" and "Plate glass" described below are reused from vanilla.
-"Glassware" is a product that meets POP demand.
–In vanilla, it can be used not only as "Household items" for POP demand, but also as "Luxury goods", although the upper limit is lower than that of existing products.
-"Plate glass" cannot be mass-produced in the vanilla glassworks. Although the productivity of Glassworks will decrease, it is possible to obtain a small amount of "Plate glass".
-It is essential to operate the "Plate glass factory" added in this mod, which aims to obtain only "Plate glass".
–However, in actual history, the productivity of "Plate glass" is very poor. This is because at the start of the game in 1836, glass must be formed into a cylindrical shape by hand and then disassembled into plates.
–Mass production is limited until the end of the 19th century, when the Lubbers method (Mechanical Cylinder Blowing Method) implemented as a fourth-generation technology in Vic3 was put into practical use.
-Mass production is difficult until the aforementioned Lubbers method. It is difficult to operate the third-generation technology "Steel Buildings" of the Construction Bureau, which requires "Plate glass".
–The required resources, including "Plate glass", have been reduced for the third-generation Construction Bureau manufacturing method. And the output has been balanced to be mitigated.
—Therefore, if this mod is installed, the GDP increase will be gradual during the period when third-generation technology is used.
-So, there is a concern that it will be difficult to increase GDP until the fifth generation Construction Bureau recipe is applied. This mod has an alternative.
–By developing "Elevators" in the social tree, the fourth generation Construction Bureau recipe "High-rise facilities" that was not available in vanilla has been implemented.
–By using the aforementioned fourth generation technology, Lubbers method, in combination, the supply concerns of "Plate glass" can be suppressed.
-In addition, regarding "Plate glass" on the glass workshop side, the productivity can be improved to "Transparent Plastic" by developing plastic.
–It is unnatural to make porcelain and plastic in the same facility. In this MOD, I have added a manufacturing method for high-grade goods that is compatible with plastic.
-The demand for "Plate glass" at the start of the game is set to not be in short supply.
–The establishment of a "Plate glass factory" requires the development of the third generation technology, the "Regenerative furnace".
-Regarding the glassworks’ manufacturing method at the start of the scenario, the use of lead or not is basically the same as vanilla.
–Regarding the use of charcoal in the glassworks, only the UK uses coal. This is because charcoal supply is scarce.
-The balance of GDP exploding in the third generation of vanilla will definitely change. Please give it a try.
