Deutsche B-turm Pack
A pack of Inner German border watchtowers, also known as B-Turm (or Beobachtungsturm). This detailed pack includes four historically accurate variants of the B-Turm, used along the former Inner German border during the Cold War. Included are the BT-6, the BT-6 as seen at the Berlin Wall (a little shorter), the BT-9, and the FüSt BT 4×4 (Führungsstelle, or command post version). Each tower model reflects the unique design and function of its real-life counterpart, offering a glimpse into the architecture and surveillance infrastructure of the DDR border regime.
The BT-6 came in two versions: a taller one that was mostly used along the Inner German border, and a shorter version that was more common in Berlin. Same goes for the FüSt BT – I included a version based on one seen near Hötensleben, just because I liked how it looked, and one more plain and generic.
All towers are set up as monuments in-game, so you can place them wherever you like. I’ve removed the usual building border restrictions, which means you can put them right next to roads, into walls, or anywhere else that fits your layout.
I wasn’t quite sure how to balance the gameplay effects, so to give them some purpose, each tower has a government loyalty radius of 100 units and adds 2.5% government loyalty. A small nod to the role these towers played in keeping the border – and the republic – secure.
