Description:
Moku, the Thundering Call, joins the battle!

An original character in the Aether universe, Moku is a flightless kiwi bird who all his life yearned to soar far above the ground. In his search for a way to take wing, he sought out the help of the prodigious Absa, who was known for her power to harness the storm. Under her tutelage, he discovered and honed new skills in the ways of cloud and thunder. He now travels the skies of Aether in his neverending quest for greater flight.

Moku is a floaty character focused on setplay and clever thinking. Numerous of his attacks will create clouds across the stage, which can then be charged with electricity using his strongs and a few other moves!

Neutral Special: Storm Meditation

Moku will pause in the air and puff out 8 clouds in a small clump around him. This is your simplest and most effective way to create clouds, though it lacks a hitbox to keep opponents at bay.

Forward Special: Lightning Whip

Taking from the lessons of his teacher, Moku lashes out a long-ranged cord of lightning. This attack knocks opponents up into the air and causes any clouds hit to crackle with multiple hits of electricity! Positioning is key, however, as its range is cut short the moment it hits something.

Up Special: Tempest Twirl

Moku spins around, raising himself slightly into the air and producing a trail of 5 clouds in his wake. If this attack hits an opponent, Moku won’t enter pratfall afterwards- allowing him to continue a combo upwards with ease.

Down Special: Great Strike

In a show of the heavens’ true wrath, Moku will charge power before summoning a massive bolt of lightning from above him. This attack draws all clouds towards Moku when charging, absorbing any that touch him in order to increase its power to devastating levels! It might be tricky to hit, but it packs a punch when set up right.

Strongs

All of Moku’s strong attacks can be used both on the ground and in the air! They have long startup, but impressive power- their most useful trait being the ability to supercharge any clouds on hit. These charged clouds will effectively extend the strong hitbox, allowing you to create a long chain of explosive electricity to hit your opponent where they don’t expect it! Supercharged clouds will disappear immediately after their active time ends, though, so use with care.

Other Notable Moves

Jab: The third hit will briefly charge clouds.
Dash Attack: Briefly charges clouds.
Up Tilt: Blows 4 clouds above Moku.
Down Tilt: Leaves a trail of 2 clouds behind Moku.
Forward Air: Creates a puff of 2 clouds in front of Moku.
Neutral Air: Draws all clouds towards Moku. Very useful for repositioning them!

Tired of Moku’s chirps? Find his screeches grating? Fret not, he comes equipped with a handy mute button on the select screen! You might be missing out on some fun secrets with certain palettes if you mute him, though…
