Less Dumb AI
This mod seeks to remove some of the AI’s restrictions based on personality and make up for their lack of a brain by tweaking some things and giving them an easier time clicking major decisions. I’m not claiming this mod makes the AI good, hence the title, just free it from either developer oversight or measures actively put in to make it worse.
Added a check for the AI to prevent it from trying to revoke titles when it’s a child or just recently ascended the throne. This drastically lowers the amount of tyranny wars started by the AI and prevents two infant brothers playing ping-pong with the throne like they were trying to get the 100 Runestones achievement, leading to more stable AI realms overall.
The AI will refuse call to arms from other AI while in debt.
The AI is slightly more likely to adapt the "Builder" archetype and is greatly incentivized to build buildings in its capital as well as new holdings. (As AI is unable to pick research this won’t stop them from ignoring to research Battlements until 1050, leaving them stuck with lvl two buildings unfortunately)
Also the AI has been put through a "Collect Taxes" steward task addiction program and will now use "Increase Development" much more frequently.
In 1.18 Paradox added AI weights to innovations so you can now nudge the French AI to not get stuck on Armillary Sphere for 50 years in 920. The AI will greatly prioritize reseach that will let it build new buildings such as Windmills, Bailiffs or Battlements. Innovations that give relatively "pointless" boni like Ermine Cloaks or Armillary Sphere have been deprioritized.
The major disadvantage the AI has over the player is a severe lack of brain, leaving it unable to plan for and act towards a major goal, like taking major decisions. To help the AI with this, the AI will now check if it can click a major decision much more frequently (down to two years from often 10) and it will ignore requirements like "Can’t be traveling" or "Can’t be commanding an Army" which just very often end up cucking the AI out of major decisions otherwise. Additionally, some hurdles based on AI personality have been removed. If an AI CAN click a major decision, it WILL click it now.
To further give it a little helping hand some requirements have been slightly lowered for AI, for example changing "completely control" into "holds title" requirements.
- The AI will look for betothals from age 8 instead of 12 and will try to marry more often at a younger age
- The AI is much more reluctant to boat an army if a land path is available
- The AI should hire less mercenaries when already outnumbering the enemy
- The AI will try to use dejure CB more often over others
