A Dynamic Map Overhaul for Victoria 3 (v1.12.*)

Bagel’s Names, Flags & Colours is the official continuation of Otto’s Dynamic Names, Flags & Colours, personally my favorite mod, Otto’s work was one of the most famous mods on the Victoria 3 steam workshop.

Following the mod’s deletion earlier in 2025, this mod aims to keep the mod alive, modernized, and maintained.

This mod dynamically updates country names, flags, and colors based on each nation’s current government type and ideology. As political systems shift—whether by revolution, reform, or regime change—the country’s identity adapts with it.

You will see:

• Communist regimes adopting revolutionary banners and names
• Democratic transitions bringing republican flags and liberal colors
• Monarchist restorations restoring regal flags and heraldry
• Theocracies implementing religious emblems and terminology
• Anarchist uprisings wiping the slate clean

These transitions happen automatically and immerse you in a world that reacts to its own internal politics.

This is not a direct copy of the original. It is the official successor built on Otto’s framework but brought up to modern standards for Victoria 3.

Key improvements include:

• Full compatibility with version 1.10.*
• Fully Cleaned and optimized scripting
• Fixed broken triggers, outdated flag logic, and bloated map color logic
• Improved visual consistency

In it’s current form this mod only includes flags for Great Powers and a few Major Powers. A key pillar in the coming updates will be including more nations with custom flags

Better name triggers and names, weird flags, and other lingering visual issues. Early content will be re-polished to match the updated vision. This especially applies to dealing with the overbloated flag code utilizing DDS files which caused the original mod to have a size over 3.5 gigs, sometimes even showing up negative.
