Gergoth

Gergoth is a massive ultra-heavyweight brawler with big attacks and a bigger bulk. Though his size may be a liability, a few small fast normals mixed in with his bigger slower attacks leads to a surprisingly versatile combo game to impose upon your foes! A poison gas cloud lets him control the stage. Hide behind it to safely charge your devestating Gergoth Beam to finish opponents off!

Gergoth wears a pair of heavy golden shackles that weigh him down, but provide soft armor on his legs. These shackles take damage whenever Gergoth hits with a stomp (d-air, b-air, u-special, and taunt), and once broken, stay broken for the rest of the match. Without his shackles, Gergoth moves faster, and his stomp attacks beome quicker, though slightly less deadly. Break your shackles as early as possible to dominate the match!

Gergoth’s most iconic move, the Gergoth Beam is a massive laser that crosses the screen. Though it takes a long time to charge, you can charge it in bursts, with a helpful HUD to show charge progress. Just don’t take damage while charging, or you’ll lose all charge progress! Once fully charged, you can fire the Gergoth Beam diagonally upwards when used on the ground, or downwards when used in the air. The sheer blowback of Gergoth’s beam will damage his shackles even if you miss, so don’t be afraid to fire it!

Gergoth bellyflops forward as a fairly quick Get Off Me Move. Once he hits the ground, he continues to slide forward, damaging foes in his path. On hit, you can cancel this move into a tilt, a strong attack, or a jump, making this an excellent combo tool!

Spray a long lasting poisonous gas cloud in front of you that inflicts damage over time to enemies caught in it. Gergoth can push this cloud around with his attacks to reposition it, or suck it up with Fstrong to deliver a poisonous bite! Enemy melee attacks can destroy the cloud, but smaller attacks chip away less of the cloud.

Leap high into the air, then come crashing down for tremendous damage! When used on the ground, Gergoth can cross most of a stage in a single leap to surprise foes. When used in the air, Gergoth travels higher, but doesn’t go nearly as far horizontally, so keep that in mind when recovering. What’s more, if you use Tower Buster into Putrid Mist, it turns the gas cloud into a poisonous shockwave that travels across the stage!

• Jab is a command grab that launches foes upwards and slightly behind Gergoth, allowing you to follow up with aerials.
• Fstrong doesn’t have much reach, but it pulls enemies (and your gas cloud) in while charging!
• Nair’s multihit blood spray persists even if you land while using this attack, so landing during a nair is great for leading into grounded attacks. however, Nair deals 1% damage to you on use, and this damage can add up!
• Dair is an incredibly deadly stomp. Not only can it spike enemies off stage, but using Dair on a grounded foe has as much upwards kill power as a strong attack! It’s one of Gergoth’s slower moves though.
• Taunt also spikes.
