SPG-9
This mod aims to rework the ageing SPG-9 already present in the game with a new model, textures and functionality.
Can you imagine running around with SPG-9 on your shoulder? I sure can’t, but I don’t have to anymore!
Run around and blast your way through western armor, but now in style!
Uses the ACE CSW framework to load / unload ammunition.
Currently there are three classes of magazines supported:
PG-9V (tbd_spg_launcher_magazine_pg9v) Standard HEAT
PG-9VNT (tbd_spg_launcher_magazine_pg9vnt) Tandem HEAT
OG-9V (tbd_spg_launcher_magazine_og9v) Frag
You can load / unload them into the static emplacement via the ACE interaction.
The static version has an adjustable tripod. You can raise / lower the tripod, and thus allow the barrel to clear obstacles or to get behind cover after firing. The default keybinds for this are PageUp and PageDown. The barrel height can be changed from 770mm to 300mm.
It is also possible to disassemble the static emplacement into a tripod and the launcher itself. The launcher works as any other infantry launcher in the launcher slot. After firing you can either press R to reload the same magazine type, or use the scrollwheel menu to reload a different magazine type.
In order for the optics of the launcher to work correctly you need to have the appropriate optic (tbd_optic_pgo9) on it. Due to the unfortunate settings of the disassemble function this optic will NOT appear on your launcher after you disassemble the static. You need to have it in your inventory beforehand and place it on the launcher manually after disassembly.
Without the optic the launcher will NOT allow you to switch between reticles for HEAT and FRAG rounds.
Needless to say the SPG is NOT intended to be fired from the shoulder. There will be a lot of sway and the reload time will be longer than if you used it with the tripod unless your name is Jamsheed.
You can obviously assemble the static back by placing the weapon back on the tripod.
