This mod provides a seamless integration between the A Game of Thrones (AGOT) total conversion mod and the House Traditions mod, ensuring both can be used together without one’s features overriding the other’s.
Why this mod?
House Traditions introduces a rich system where noble families develop unique, generation-spanning values and behaviors.
A Game of Thrones is a massive total conversion mod that recreates the world of Westeros and Essos, with new mechanics for dragons, knights, and the iconic houses.
Without this patch, some of the cadet dynasty and house interactions from House Traditions are not fully functional within the A Game of Thrones setting. A major conflict this patch resolves is the unintended marriage between Wildlings beyond the Wall and characters from Westeros, a bug that breaks immersion and historical context. This patch fixes this behavior, allowing you to fully immerse your dynasty in its own unique traditions.
Key Features
This patch goes a little beyond simple compatibility by giving you more control over your gameplay experience. It adds new Game Rules that allow you to customize how the two mods interact. These are simple binary switches (On/Off) that determine whether the game should use the additions from House Traditions regarding:
AI Cadet Branch Creation: Decide whether the AI should follow the rules for forming new cadet branches as defined by the House Traditions mod.
House Compatibility Marriage Acceptance: Determine if house traditions compatibility should be considered as a factor when arranging marriages or finding a spouse.
Important Note: This mod is a Work in Progress
Initially, this patch addresses the main file conflicts between the two mods. I am actively evaluating potential side effects and interactions between their functionalities, specially regarding decisions the AI might take. Please report any issues you encounter to help improve the mod.
Suggested Load Order
For this compatibility patch to work correctly, please use the following load order in your Crusader Kings 3 launcher:
