Active Camouflage
This mod gives the ability to cloak the player and your squadmates, making you harder to detect by AI. Inspired by games like Ghost Recon or Halo it will apply a translucent effect to the players uniform, it also has a charge which drains with use, which can be monitered by a descrete bar in the bottom of your screen.
You will not be fully invisible, however your visual and auditry range of detection will be greatly reduced, allowing for easier stealth and movement. The degree that you will be cloaked by can be changed in settings, allowing you to choose how strong the cloaking is. You can also pick how fast it drains and how quick it recharges using the CBA addon settings.
Events like firing your weapon and taking damage will deactivate the cloak, and beacause the mod effects the players ability to be spotted, crawling/crouching and not moving also affects how easily the player can be spotted when cloaked.
Default key is U but this can be rebound in the vanilla controls menu. Also Active Camouflage HUD and cloaking effect can be disabled in menu. Now also supports VileHUD.
Arma will not allow retexturing to the players vest, skin, helmet or weapon so the translucent effect only applies to the uniform and backpack which is irritating but it will work with any loadout, just some look better than others.
An option is available to only allow cloak on certain uniforms, when activated it will check if the player is wearing any of the uniforms listed below the checkbox. To add your own go into editor, place a unit with the desired uniform and play the scenario as them. Then in the editor command box type: uniform player. Copy the output without quotation marks and paste into one of the editboxes in the addon config.
There are units who are cloaked without needing the player to lead them. They will always be cloaked until they shoot or are hit, then will uncloak for a short period. They too benefit from the cloak against other AIs and when lead by the player, will retain their camouflage behaviour rather than copy the player.
Their config names if anyone would like to create a unit is "RPG101_" followed by any viper or CTRG unit in the base game. To find them in editor they will be under CTRG, CSAT and CSAT Pacific in the subcategory Active Camouflage, normal viper and CTRG units will not be cloaked.
