From nearly forgotten art form of peak 3DS flipnote creation comes RAXDflipnote, now as a fighter in Rivals of Aether. He’s here here swinging with a crazy arsenal including his trusty tungsten cube, a comically long spoon, a very problematic trolley, and a ton of other references that’s surely win you the day. You just need to be lucky, as gambling is still the main name of the game, as it always has been.
The gamblecore machine is RAXD’s primary gimmick. Using Dspecial will spawn a slot machine that either player can be spun by either attacking it themselves or launching an opponent into it. Your odds for a favorable outcome are slightly better if you spin it yourself, and slightly worse if you get launch into the machine. There are TON of random events and effects that can happen, so if you think you’ve seen them all, you’ll need to just keep gambling till you figure it out.
Nspecial (The Grab): Grab your opponent and throw them them in any 4 of the cardinal directions. You can also pummel with the attack button.
Fspecial (Tungsten Cube): Throw the heavy cube across the entire screen. It’s able to spike, bury, and sometimes even kill instantly if it connects.
Uspecial (Trolley Problem): Call in a trolley to ride forwards on. Using the attack on the ground will swap it’s direction, and holding parry will despawn it.
Dspecial (Gamblecore Machine): Spawn the gamblecore machine in front of you, or use in the air, perform a dive attack before landing and summoning the slots. You can do aerial Dspecial on the ground if you input the move during jumpsquat as well.
Fair (Comically Long Spoon): This spoon can latch onto the side of stages similar to Sephiroth in smash ultimate, allowing you to get a recovery boost.
Fstrong (Cauldron of Oil): If hit a player with this attack, you can input Fstrong a second time immediately after to spawn the oil over top of their head, spiking them downwards.
RAXD has an entire second costume set of just being a regular flipnote character, depicted with more traditional rivals shading and outlines. You can swap to this costume with the icon near the bottom left of his select screen portrait.
