Description:

This mod reworks the Knights and Accolades panel to show more knights at a glance and showcase your acclaimed knights as the heroes of the realm they are.

As impressive as Crusader Kings 3 UI is, the Knights and Accolades panel feels like an afterthough. Here you select among your bravest and most loyal to die for you in battle and protect the realm, and is just barely a tiny list of characters like many others. Your acclaimed knights, legends of the realm, a plain row of boring portraits.

Well, no more, I say. This mod gives a proper redesign to that interface, keeping the old layout, organization and data, but giving it a more inmersive and comfortable to use look.

Changes to the Knights and Accolades panel

A new knights list. Knights are now shown as cards, so you can look at the eyes of those you recruit or reject. This allows to fit more knights – now 9, versus the old 3 -, and give more a feel of a squad of troops waiting to be commanded. Following with the design style of my other mod, Smaller Court, knighted soldiers will have its background tinted in a subtle red, while guests will have a transparent one. The list also showcases a background illustration, representing the training grounds where your men muster to await your orders.

A new acclaimed knights showcase. The heroes of your realm now pose in a glorious row on top of the panel, against a backdrop illustration of marching troops with unfurled banners. These are your top men, selected from the elite to defend the realm, and now they look exactly like that. Functionality wise, the panel works exactly as before.

Unified stat block Number of accolades, knights, effectivenes and other buttons have been re-estiled and arranged on the middle section, to give the view a more structured look.

Compatibility

This mod alters the window_knights.gui file, so it won’t work with other mods that edit it too.

Compatible with Knight Manager Continued, by Lord DGP. This mod will detect if Knight Manager is present, and gracefully allocate some space for it if that’s the case. Simply put Smaller Knights somewhere lower in the load order and should work out of the box.

I am not by any means a skilled modder, but I do love Crusader Kings and UI design, so I hope you enjoy this mod as much as I did making it.
