Mod Description

[Eastern Honorific Rites]

– "Eastern Honorific Rites" refers to the system of Temple Names, Posthumous Names, and Era Names.
– Automatic Access: Governments with Celestial, Meritocracy, or Meritocratic Khanate types can use these rites without conditions.
– Conditional Access: Other nations can access these rites via the "Adopt Eastern Honorific Rites" Decision, based on Character Culture or Capital Location.
* Character Culture: Must be of Chinese, Samhan, Buyeo, or Viet Heritage, OR possess the "Sinosphere" or "Scholar-Bureaucrats" traditions.
* Capital Location: Must be located within the China or Korea region.
– If adopted via Decision, you must use the "Reapply Eastern Honorific Rites" Decision whenever your Primary Title changes.
– "Abolish Eastern Honorific Rites" Decision: If you adopted the rites via Decision but no longer meet the conditions, you can abolish the rites from your realm.

[Temple & Posthumous Names]

– When a ruler (King-tier or higher) of a nation using "Eastern Honorific Rites" dies, their heir grants a Temple Name and Posthumous Name via the "Confer Temple and Posthumous Names" Decision.
* Exception: In special cases (e.g., Goryeo in 1178) where the de facto ruler (Emperor tier) and the holder of the royal throne (e.g., "Yongsun Throne") are different, only the holder of the King-tier title can grant these names. The de facto ruler cannot.
– Availability: Independent rulers of King-tier or higher can use this system.
* For Goguryeo, Silla, Baekje, and Balhae, the AI will strictly use Posthumous Names only. However, the Player can choose between "Temple & Posthumous Names" or "Posthumous Name Only".
– "Posthumously Honor Royal Father" Decision: Grants a Temple/Posthumous name if the ruler’s deceased father does not have one.
– "Posthumously Exalt Ancestor" Decision: Grants a Temple/Posthumous name to the father of the dynasty’s founder.
– Historical Temple and Posthumous names for Chinese and other East Asian monarchs have been implemented.
– Temple and Posthumous Names are formatted as **'[Country Name] [Temple Name] [Posthumous Name] [Title] [Name]’**.
  * However, for China (h_china), due to an error, the format is displayed as **'[Temple Name] [Posthumous Name] [Title] [Name]’**.
  * e.g.) Goryeo Taejo ‘King Sinmu’ Wang Geon / Shizu ‘Emperor Guangwu’ Liu Xiu

[Temple Name]

– A name granted to honor a monarch’s virtues after death.
– Temple Names are divided into "Jo (祖)" and "Jong (宗)", distinguished by a trait based on the ruler’s Honor Level.
– The character preceding Jo/Jong is determined by the deceased ruler’s Honor Level, traits, and attributes.
– Override Option: You can ignore the naming rules and choose a name freely (costs Tyranny and Prestige).
– Founders of a Kingdom, Empire, or Hegemony can receive Taejo (太祖), Gojo (高祖), Yeoljo (烈祖), or Sejo (世祖).
– "Found a Dynasty" Decision: Grants the Founder trait to newly independent kingdoms within an Empire or Hegemony.
– "Judgment of Temple Name" Decision: Allows you to check the requirements for each Temple Name.
– Implementation Change: Temple Names are now granted as Traits, not Nicknames.

[Posthumous Name]

– A name granted to praise the merits of monarchs or officials after death.
– Posthumous Names are granted in conjunction with Temple Names.
– Consists of two characters: You can directly combine a First Character (25 options) and a Second Character (25 options).
* It is also possible to use only the First Character.
– Implementation: Posthumous Names are granted as Nicknames.
– "Confer Title upon Deposed Monarch" Decision: Allows a usurper to grant a Posthumous Name (8 specific options) to the ruler of the previous dynasty.

[Era Name]

– The title used to define the reign period of a monarch.
– Era names can only be proclaimed when not in a tributary state.
– Proclaimed via Decision (costs 500 Prestige).
* Hegemons with the Celestial government can proclaim an Era Name at a reduced cost (200 Prestige).
– Consists of two Chinese characters: You can directly combine a First Character (32 options) and a Second Character (28 options).
– The proclaimed Era Name is granted as a Trait to the character.
– The active Era Name can be viewed in the Decision panel and on the GUI timeline as [Era Name + Year of Use].
– As a vassal, you can view your liege’s active Era Name in the decision panel/GUI timeline interface.
– As a tributary, you can view your suzerain’s active Era Name in the decision panel/GUI timeline interface.
