Description:
Goal:

This mod aims to reduce the reliance on XP farming tactics by allowing units to passively gain XP by just existing.
This helps offset the drawbacks of paying upkeep to retain units that aren’t fighting regularly; such as garrisoned units and scouts, and provides a means of building up well-trained standing armies as reserves or defence forces.
As a byproduct this will also keep the XP economy going as nodes and infestations get cleared out in the mid to late game.

Method:

Addition of new ‘Experience’ ability inherent to all units (including heroes) – Unit gains +1 XP at the start of their turn.
This also affects all neutral and infestation units which will level up slightly faster than in the base game
As an example, a Tier I unit produced at Recruit level would take 80 turns to reach Legend rank, a Tier III would take 160 turns, and a Tier V would take 240 turns.
For all units except evolving units, Champion to Legend rank requires half of the total experience, so a Tier I unit would need 40 turns to get from Champion to Legend, a Tier III 80 turns, and a Tier V 120 turns.

Compatibility:

Only the base game is required.
This mod is compatible with all base game Languages.

This mod edits all ‘Core Unit’, ‘Hero Type’ and ‘Leader Type’ Group Property entries in the UnitTypes_Definitions.rpk and will not be compatible with any other mod that edits the same data.
This should only be mods that add or remove abilities for all units within a certain group, for example all Shock units have with Killing Momentum; to my knowledge there aren’t any major mods that touch these entries.
