The USS Greyback (SSG-574) represents a radical shift in naval doctrine. Commissioned in the late 1950s, this diesel-electric submarine features a pair of massive cylindrical hangars forward of the sail, specifically engineered to house the Regulus cruise missile.

This design forces a high-risk, high-reward playstyle: you must surface to unleash your devastating payload, creating a tense moment of vulnerability that defines this generation of naval warfare.

⚠️ GUIDANCE WARNING
The Regulus missile system possesses no internal guidance.

Its primary role is static land attack.

It must be manually guided by the submarine to the target.

DO NOT DIVE while the missile is in flight, or the datalink will sever and the missile will be lost.

Targeting moving surface vessels is possible via manual guidance but is historically experimental and extremely difficult.
