DuckDuckCon – Gamepad Support
(Version: 0.2.9-beta)
DuckDuckCon is an unofficial controller-support mod for Escape from Duckov. It provides a modern twin-stick style controller scheme, along with UI interaction and force feedback. The goal is to let players enjoy the game entirely with a controller or on a Steam Deck, without needing a keyboard and mouse.
Note: The mod is still in active development. Features and key bindings may change.
Language Support: English / Simplified Chinese / Traditional Chinese
Tested Platforms: Windows / SteamDeck
Game Configuration: Press F8 to open the configuration menu. The config file is saved at:
If your DualShock controller displays Xbox button icons, disable Steam Input in the game’s Steam properties so the game can correctly detect the controller type.
The official Steam layout "Gamepad With Joystick Trackpad" provides the best compatibility with this mod.
Important: On first launch, use the touchscreen to access the mod menu and enable the mod. After enabling, you can use Steam Deck controls.
Xbox controller layout is used as the reference. DualShock controllers use the same bindings.

Two fully customizable aim schemes are supported, each with independent mouse sensitivity settings for Hip Fire and ADS. Press R3 to switch schemes at any time. Adjust all settings from the F8 configuration menu.
The mod includes an aim assist feature that can be enabled independently for each mode (Hip Fire and ADS) in the Aim Scheme Configuration. To avoid conflicts with existing aim assist mods, it is disabled by default. Configure aim assist strength in the "Assists & Feedbacks" tab of the configuration menu (F8).
The mod supports gamepad force feedback (vibration) for in-game events such as shooting and taking damage. Adjust the force feedback intensity in the "Assists & Feedbacks" tab of the configuration menu (F8). Note: PS5 controllers require Steam Input to be enabled for force feedback support.
Controller navigation is supported across major interfaces including the main menu, inventory, quests, crafting, trading, and mini-map.
Press the View button to show context-sensitive controller help. Button prompts automatically adapt to your connected controller type.
Interfaces without dedicated navigation logic fall back to a generic gamepad cursor mode, allowing full UI access via controller.
Around 60% of major game interfaces are currently supported, covering all core systems. More UI coverage will be added over time.
