Description:

This mod was developed with this theme in mind.

Bathing and showering in Project Zomboid should feel meaningful.

This mod adds fully playable bath and shower mechanics, and gives them a real place in day-to-day survival.
Bathing is not just flavor. It can become part of how you stay comfortable, clean, and in good condition over time.

Is washing yourself in a sink, or even a toilet, really enough to feel clean?
You might survive without proper bathing, but it should not feel ideal.

This Mod Guide

• Adds an invisible body dirt parameter called Grime.
• The Grime system can be disabled in the sandbox options.
• Bathtubs function as fluid containers.
• Includes a dedicated bathtub UI.
• Adds "Take Shower" options to white showers and wall-mounted showers.
• Adds a "Take Bath" option to white bathtubs.
• Bathing Benefits: bathing can help relieve various negative stats.

• Body Shampoo: an alternative to soap. (Currently shower-only.)
• Bath Salt: can be added to tub water. There are currently 6 types, each with different bathing benefits.

• Automatic Clothing Change: includes a wide range of options.
• Improved Plumbing: bathtubs and showers can calculate available water from the total amount stored in all water collectors in the 3×3 area above them.
• Advanced Prep Location Detection: the character can better detect where to prepare for bathing. Toilets, cabinets, and other awkward tiles are given lower priority even if they are technically usable or closer.

• Bathtubs have four sprite variations: with shower (vanilla), cleaned with shower, without shower, and cleaned without shower.
• You can always climb over the edge of a bathtub.
• This can sometimes result in zombies ending up in the bathtub.
• Bathtubs and showers can be separated through the context menu. (Requires a pipe wrench.)
• Shower parts can be removed from bathtubs and deluxe showers.
• Removed shower parts can be packed, unpacked, and placed as wall-mounted showers.
• Deluxe showers can be crafted using shower parts and wall-mounted showers as materials.
• Separated bathtubs can have shower parts or wall-mounted showers attached again.
• Adds recipes for packing and unpacking shower parts and wall-mounted showers.
• Clean Tub variants are available for both attached-shower and separated-shower types.
• The improved Deluxe Shower can rotate in all four directions. The vanilla version only supports S and E.

I intentionally did not make these required, but I strongly recommend them because they support important parts of this mod.

Included Patches

• Ra’s Body Mod – dedicated compatibility patch included.
• Lifestyle: Hobbies – [Important] Load after this mod. bath and shower interactions are replaced by this mod’s versions, and bathing can also reduce `hygieneNeed`.
• WaterPipes – bathtubs and showers can be connected to WaterPipes pipes.

General Compatibility

• Automatic clothing change is designed to work with most body mods.
• Tomb’s Player Body Overhaul – one of my personal favorites, and the one used in the screenshots.
• Wash or Rot – its grime system is similar but not identical, so the two mods can coexist and may work well together.
• Anthro Survivors – Although a patch is included, there is no guarantee that it will work correctly with the latest version.
• More Damaged Objects – [Important] Load after this mod.

• Uninstalling this mod while saving is not recommended, as it will leave a large amount of junk in the game.
• Some features may still behave oddly in split-screen mode.
• The bathtub and shower faucet menus are currently limited because the vanilla fluid menu is broken.
• If you speed up the game during the movement or clothing-change steps before or after showering, the action may stop midway.
• This happens because WalkAction and PathFindBehavior can be canceled at high game speeds.
