Extraterra

Extraterra aims to depict a future conflict on the moon at the end of the 21st century in a hard sci-fi setting.
There are no las-guns, phasers, or blasters here. Everything in this mod is something that either could be made today, or feasibly made by the end of the century. (There is always still room for the "rule of cool" however).
This also means you have to contend with the laws of physics – oxygen and power are not infinite, radiation is abundant, and the sun will quickly turn your space suit into an oven.
Headless Client – This will lighten the performance impact of the mod.
Enable ACE Advanced Fatigue – This mod is designed to be used with the ACE stamina system (stamina can be disabled completely if desired).
Set ACE Advanced Fatigue Load Factor to 0.17 via CBA settings for realistic stamina in lunar gravity.
Enable ACE Medical SPO2 Simulation (can be disabled if desired).
Extraterra currently adds the following:
- Round ballistics will vary depending on the atmosphere surrounding the player.
- Firearms will overheat quicker if fired in vacuum.
- Gunshot sounds vary depending on the atmosphere surrounding the player.
- Custom gunshot sounds.
- Custom bullet casings.
- Supersonic crack removed from Extraterra firearms (no air, no crack).
Pressure simulation
- User placeable pressurized areas. Can choose between 1 atmosphere, 0.3 atmosphere, and Vacuum.
Thermal simulation
- Environmental, Suit, and body core temperature modelled.
- Environmental temperature modelled using a basic light/path tracing method.
- Player orientation towards the sun affects received solar energy.
- Thermal management affected by atmosphere surrounding player.
- Interaction between internal suit temperature and body core temperature modelled.
- Heat generated by physical exertion and base metabolic rate modelled.
Injury System
- Asphyxiation.
- Ebullism.
- Acute Radiation Syndrome.
- Hypothermia.
- Hyperthermia.
Radiation simulation
- User placeable solar storms.
- User placeable radiation shielded areas.
Suit Life support
- Basic air tank system (still very rough around the edges).
- Air consumption varies with physical exertion and pain levels.
- Power drain varies depending on suit climate control setting and vision mode (Night-vision/Thermals).
Heads Up Display
- IFF with basic datalink system.
- Life support and vital sign tracking.
- Targeting reticle, equipment tracking.
Equipment
- US Undersuit
- US BDU
- US Helmet
- US service rifle.
Extraterra also has the following planned features:
- US faction with full equipment roster
- PRC faction with full equipment roster
- Commercial/Civilian equipment
The next update will add:
- Polish/Bug fixing
May or may not be compatible with other ACE medical mods. Untested.
